Question about CV joint, miles to fail, noises
 

Hi All,
My old '07 accord hasn't been driven much, I have lived close to work (lucky while it lasts) its got about 120,000 on it. The CV boots are clean and no cracks.
The car has road noise that changes with speed. Also, when I hit the brakes hard (very hard) it makes rumbling but I don't feel it in the pedal, so I don't think its a warped rotor. Also I just put rotors, brakes and calipers on a year ago, and haven't had any problems with the brakes that I know of.
A friend suggested the vibration may be due to bad CV joints. Anyone have them go bad after 120k, with no failed boots? I thought most people get 200-300k, unless something kills the boot and the grease leaks out.
Jacked up the front, put it on jack stands, and spun the hub slowly by hand. I can feel a small vibration but can't tell if its the bearing, CV or differential. (Crossing fingers its not the diff).

The axles on my 2001 Honda Accord and my 2006 Acura TL both started causing vibrations while driving, however, that is a very different symptom compared to what you're talking about. While I am not saying your axles aren't getting a little long in the tooth, I don't believe they are causing the issues you're describing.

Yes, mostly 45(ish) mph and higher.
