Radiator Fans Not Working; Relay, Fuses, and Both Switches are functional

Car: 1997 Honda Accord 3.8 L 4 cyl lx 4 door

I had been experiencing overheating in this car for a while now, and I assumed based on the symptoms that a faulty thermostat was the problem, but after replacing this part it turned out that was not the case.

It turned out that my cooling fans weren't operating when the vehicle was on, I checked the fuses and the relays by replacing them with other identical pieces and they checked out, I also shorted both the engine temp switches, but the fans still didn't work. I know the fans themselves are functional because they work when connected directly to the battery.

I was just wondering if I may have been overlooking something in my troubleshooting. Thank you for the help.

3.8 liter 4-cylinder???

Anyway, I think 1997 still has the fan-timer-module in that control scheme. Look in the DIY section for something about that.

When you short the fan switch in the thermostat housing (BOTTOM radiator hose), you then have to turn the key ON to get the fans to run (both of them). Did you check that way?

The fan switch at the upper radiator hose only has authority for a couple minutes AFTER you turn the key OFF. So you have to check it that way.
