Rear Seat Release

I am looking for help with an issue regarding the rear seat latch on my 2014 Accord Sport Model. As per the instructions from the owners manual, I pull on the rear seat release located in the truck and then pull on the back seat. The seat will not come down when I do this. The techs and service manager at the dealer said I have to pull the release and pull down on the seat at the same time. In other words I have to have one arm in the truck and one in the car door simultaneously. This doesn't make sense to me and I can't believe they would tell me that.

The other new cars on the lot work just fine, but they say it's just that those releases stick a little. Do you other Accord owners have to pull the release and down on the rear seat at the same time? Or, does your rear seat release operate as described in the owners manual. Pressing my point with the dealer looks like it will be difficult. I would appreciate some feed back from others.

Thank you, Red Glare

You're suppose to be able to just pull the release handle first, then push the seat from inside the trunk (a little hard to reach), or walk around to go around through the rear passenger door and pull the seat down.

If you have something placed on the rear seats pushing up against the rear seat back, you may have to pull the release handle and push the rear seat from the trunk at about the same time.
