Rear view Mirror Removal in a '93 How?
This seems so minor but it drives me NUTS!! The rear view mirror in my '93 makes a clicking sound as I drive down the road. I think it is plastic rubbing together and I want to remove it and lube it or clean it or something to stop the noise.
Does anyone know how to remove that plastic cover off of where the mount arm connects to the ceiling without breaking it?? Thanks!! |

The cover is #22 in the pic above;
warm it up with a blow dryer, it is probably brittle after so many years. Then come from the side with a pocket screw driver, you should be able to see where the tabs are. Be sure the screws under the cap are tight, and you can lube the plastic with silicone grease. |
Great Pic and answers by both you men..He should be able to figure that out easly enuff...:)

Yes, #22 is the piece I am talking about. I didn't think about using a hair dryer..... good idea. I am sure it is probably brittle and that was why I asked the question. I am going to give that a go. I don't see any tabs but I might use a butter knife or something wide to spread out the force a little.
