Remove low beam headlight bulb

I have a 2003 L4 and one of the low beam bulbs need replacing. In the handbook is refers to removing a panel in the inner fender cover (where the wheel is) to access the bulb, however there is no panel. Looking under the hood you can see and apparently access the bulb. It refers to turning the bulb 1/4 of a turn to remove it but due to the previous error in the handbook I am doubtful of this. Around the back of the bulb is a metal ring with 3 screws, do these have to be undone or do you really just turn the bulb to remove it. If the handbook is incorrect once it may be wrong here too andI don't want to break the bulb by turning it.

RE: Remove low beam headlight bulb

Get to it by pulling the fender liner back. Unplug the connector, twist the bulb counterclockwise to remove it.
