Default removing starter from an accord

hello folks.... i have a 90 honda accord the starter quit a few days ago, so ive been working on getting that one off.... already got a new one to put on when i do get it off, but ive got everything disconnected, and have the top bolt out..... but i cant get the bottom bolt out.... ive been doing all this from the top, as its closer to the top......... my question is, what is the best way to get to that bottom bolt, and whats the best tools to use for the access area which is not much at all?

You might have to get a swivel socket and use it with an extension and ratchet.

thanx, but tried that.... tried a swivel socket, short ext, long ext, both together, a wrench....this is all from the top.... is there a better way to get to it from the bottom... from the looks of it its not.....but it has to come off there somehow.

Have you tried with a wrench on the ratchet, like in this video?

I have taken my starter off a few times on my 97

Never jacked it up, it really is not too hard.

I am not sure why you are having so much trouble.

I think I just used a socket on a short extension.

IIRC there are some wires there that make it hard to get to but I just bent them out of the way.

on mine, you have the bolt on top, of course..... but the bolt on bottom, is kind of out of view and sits just under the starter housing...there is only enough room to get an extension, if i use a short extension, i cant get to it to turn it..... if i use a long one its too long and i have to tilt it upward to turn it loose..... the problem i believe is the swivel socket. it flops around too easy, unlike the one in the video, if i had one like it, it would probably work.... if you just used a short extension, im guessing you had to take alot of things loose. if you didnt, im guessing your honda is made different...
this is the first time ive tackled a starter, but i see no wy to take it off with just a socket and short extension...but maybe im wrong, but ive tried.
