replace radio antenna
The radio antenna got broken off on my 92 Accord DX. In the past the factory one was replaced with an aftermarket one, I guess the aftermarket one was good enough function-wise. But as I recall when I installed the aftermarket one (years ago), it didn't really fit just perfectly and as nice where it protrudes through the rear body as the factory one. When I look at some of the online Honda parts vendors for the price and availability of an OEM replacement, it seems all I see are the motorized electric antennas for my vehicle. But my vehicle just has the regular manual antenna, always has. And I'm not wanting an electric antenna either; just manual is fine. There are no junkyards here so the idea of getting a salvaged one at least locally is not an option I have.
Would anyone happen to know the OEM Honda part number for the regular manual antenna for my car? Also, I might try the classifieds via the forum here and see if anybody's got an original factory one available for sale for a decent price. Any comments/advice/help appreciated. |
You might be able to find a mount to allow use of following:
Genuine Honda 39151 SWA 305 Antenna Mast | eBay or I used something like this but it was designated as compatible w/ Accord, which it proved to be. I could not find a match for what I used, but it is similar to following; a short black rubber covered antenna. Not great radio reception but screws right off to leave male stub. Universal Rubber Roof Mount Swivel Base Car Stereo Am FM Antenna | eBay good luck |
Thanks TexasHonda for those options, which I'll consider.

Actually those two options I see are for "roof mount" whereas my antenna is mounted on the rear driver side, over the rear fender area. I'm looking more for just a stock type replacement.

The manual antenna is Honda part # 08B41-SM4-100.
