Replacement Exhaust
 

I need to replace the entire exhaust system on my '93 Accord. I am having trouble finding the affordable parts. Does anyone know of anyplace that has a good deal on exhaust?

Also, will it cause any problems if I eliminate the catalytic converter and/or resonator?

I bought a Walker quietflow muffler and pipe (from converter back) from Rockauto. Price was very reasonable; < $100? This was several months back so not sure.

It installed nicely, although a pretty big diy job working under a car on front ramps and rear jack stands. Installing tapered gasket between spring-loaded bolts was a challenge.

Walker makes converter, flexpipe, and exhaust manifold sections also.

Probably not as good as OEM, but quite serviceable and it is quiet.

Check out Amazon there prices I have found to be very good for exhaust systems. I bought a Maremont one on there several years ago whole system except for the convertor. I bought the gaskets local as they are easy to return if they didnt fit. Also replaced the bolts with stainless bolts so I could actually replace it again if I had to. Its a pain to do it on jack stands ramps but definitely doable just takes some patience take the extra time to get the car as safely high as possible.

You need the resonator you would get some weird vibrations if you did not have it, then again sometimes the replacement non oem ones give you bad vibrations at some speeds.

I have a 2001 EX 4cyl, 5 speed. I was getting a check engine light, ended up being a leaky flex pipe and bad converter.

I got a walker pipe from manifold to cat and then a magnaflow cat, with all gaskets and new bolts total was about $295 (i buy extra parts small parts just in case lol).

I was also able to recycle the cat and got $130 CASH on the recycle, here is the website I used and they pay for shipping

they were actually local to me (less than an hour away).

I didn't have to deal with the spring bolts, the bolts on mine were just cross thread but I replaced them with regular bolts since I had to cut them off.

All total with the recycle I was in about $165 from the manifold to cat.
