Reset/time rear balancer shaft?

Hey guys,
Not sure if you remember my previous thread... I'm replacing the oil pump on my 1991 Accord LX. In order to do that, I had to remove the large gear that times the rear balancer shaft, then the smaller gear inside that interlocks with the larger one. I was wondering if anybody could help me out by telling me where to set the shaft again to make sure it's in the right place. (I heard that it rotates around 3 times for every single rotation of the crank shaft) I know where to line up the dot on the large outside gear, but I'm talking about the little inside gear and where it meshes with the large one.

Hope it makes sense. Thanks

This is based off of my 95.

There is a bolt on the back of the engine that you remove. You can set the rear balance shaft by inserting a 1/4 inch drill bit into the engine. The 1/4 inch bit will insert all the way in if you have the rear balance belt turned to the proper spot.

Does this make sense?

This is the pic that shows the gear removed and the bolt is on the right.

Thanks. The one thing is that I didn't put the drill bit in to hold the shaft in place until I was taking off the little gear inside. I then took the bit out.. :(
Didn't realize what I was doing.

Anyways, I'm positive the the shaft is not in time right now... what should I do?

So put the drill bit back in. You'll have to spin the shaft by hand until it fits in. The balance shaft is only some eccentric weights, it doesn't hit anything or bend valves or stuff like that. You can spin it.
