Hi, this may have already been covered before so apologies if this is the case, my question is that the rev counter needle on my Accord drops below zero down to the six o'clock position when idling and doesn't rest at the zero position which means it doesn't read correctly when driving, it appears to be working ok but shows approx. 1,000 revs below what it should be reading. Is this fixable or does it mean replacement gauges?

It would help to know what year/version/engine is your Accord. (Probably I won't know the answer but someone would still need to know what kind of Accord we're talking about...)

Are you comfortable soldering components on circuit boards?? Sounds like a bad stepper motor depending on the year. Common thing on some car brands, but I haven't really seen people posting about that on this board.

apologies for the obvious oversight, the Accord is a 2005 Tourer Estate with a 2 litre petrol engine
