Rough shift when cold

Hey Everyone,

I have a '99 Accord with the V6. I recently rebuilt the transmission at 158,000 miles and everything has been working great, and still is for the most part.

I have an odd issue with the 1-2 shift when the engine has just started and is cold. The transmission will slip/hesitate when shifting from 1st into 2nd gear. It's worse when turning out onto a street and accelerating. When accelerating straight you do not notice it, and once the engine warms to operating temperature the issue is completely gone.

I use genuine Honda fluid (although they changed their formula!) and the level is right where it should be. All of the solenoids and pressure switches were replaced when I rebuilt the unit, and all clutch packs were measured and within proper tolerance according to the manual (and by "within" I mean in the middle, not at one end or the other of the spectrum). I am pretty nit-picky too and made sure every nut and bolt was torqued properly as per the manual.

Any ideas would be helpful!

Tough being a nit-picky guy, but congrats on the rebuild.

I'm leery of trying to fix things that are 99% OK, so thought here is -->
install a remote starter unit and let it warm up for 5 minutes before you leave the house in the AM; might have comfort benefits as well.

OK shoot me.

Maybe "nit-pciky" was a poor choice of words! Haha. Let's just say I try to be as precise as possible when building or working on cars. :)

I should also mention I now have just over 169,000 miles on the car since rebuilding the trans.
