Shell V-Power
It's good stuff! This V-6 seems to like it more consistently than the '05 V-6 Hybrid I had. After a while on the old one, performance seemed to go flat on a steady diet of V-Power, but this new hybrid-less standard V-6 seems to do better on it all the time. Question is, is it good to run V-Power all the time, or do I need to use lower octane gas part time?
One more unrelated question: Is anyone still using those dirt sucking K&N no-filter-at-all air filters? The thought ran through my mind of trying it on this car, but I quickly dismissed that thought thinking back to all the hesitation problems I had on the old car using that piece of junk, plus filling the internal engine with fine dirt particles using that lemon "filter". |
i use premium 93 octane every fill up. does these engines good
they have since improved the design. "dry flow filters" my instructor did tell me a story about someone running a k&n filter on their turbo diesel truck and it destroyed the turbo bc of the dirt, and the dealer would not replace the engine bc the aftermarket filter caused engine failure. so watch out. |
Thanks, Tek. Are these dry flow filters by K&N or another brand? I'm interested.
Thanks again~ |
I can't find a dry flow filter anywhere, just those lousy K&N's. Been Googling all over for them. I have a Wix filter on there, guess that's dry flow (stock).

Use dry flow filters |
I guess I'm going at this all wrong. Let me ask if there is such a thing as this filter that would fit my Accord 3.0.
I doubt any of these locals like Pep Boys have ever heard of one. Thanks |
you mean just a drop in filter, in your stock air box?
if so, then no. Only K&N makes performance drop in filters |
Thanks, Tek. I've already commented on my bad experience with K&N in another thread.
Thanks anyway. |
