Icalled Sylvania and the customer rep said that Silverstars should last at least 1 year. She also told me that if i sent them the burned out bulb with a receipt i could get a free replacement or a refund, so i went and bought another pair (advance auto parts has them on sale 25% off)and mailed them the burn light with my receipt. I'll have to wait and see if they do send me a refund in "4 to 5 weeks".

No , Sylvania Silverstars will NOT burn or melt your harness since they are on exact specs with OEM.

The only bulbs that will melt your harness are those bulbs with atleast more than 10 watts over the recommended wattage. For example are those 80 Watts to 110 Watts that can be bought from ebay. They run way hotter and thus melting your harness. The only way to run those high wattage bulbs is to upgrade your harness and you can plug those in.

If you want better visibility , I suggest getting an HID kit and just adjust the headlights so that people won't get blind from the glare.

A better set-up is a projector retrofit and HID kit set-up.

Another set-up is a 9005 to 9006 headlight conversion. Better light than those silverstars. I did that conversion on mine and I see a major difference in brightness. I still don't blind people and never got pulled over IF your headlights are properly adjusted.

I have to agree with a few of you guys. I had my Silverstar low beams in for about four months when the first one burnt out. Definately not worth the fourty dollars they cost. I think I might switch back. They look cool, but not that cool. lol.
