Starting issue Honda Accord 1995

1995 Honda Accord will start and run fine by using throttle body cleaner, but won’t start without this a aid. Spark plugs replaced fuel filter and air cleaner replaced……..where to next??

What happens when you stop spraying throttle body cleaner? Does the engine run normally, or does the car stall out?

I generally spray the throttle body cleaner into the inlet of the air cleaner and then crank the engine which then starts. Once it starts it runs as normal without any issues. Once the ignition is turned off and I attempt a restart then this process of spraying the tbc is repeated.

The most likely causes are either the electrical portion of the ignition switch, the main fuel relay, or possibly the wiring.

There is a good ericthecarguy video on bad main relay solder joints. The suggestion on how to remove the innards of the relay can save you some headache from unbolting the bracket.

Depending your skill for soldering, this could fix your problem. If you are good with electrical troubleshooting, then we can give some tests to look for missing voltages at the main relay.

Is the Main fuel relay required for the fuel pump operation and subsequently used while the motor is running? I can successfully solder joints and test PCB’s and also somewhat ok with electrical troubleshooting.
Thanks for the heads up on the likely faults and the you tube suggestion………I will check it out.

The main fuel relay sends power to the fuel pump and injectors. The blu/red wire to the main fuel relay should have 12V when you turn the key to the start position. I'd suggest using a 12V test light for testing vs a volt meter if you have one. If not, a volt meter will do, Also check the 7.5 amp start signal fuse in the engine bay fuse box.
