Starting issues....again
Ok....
2002 Accord EX V6 77,000 miles
I posted about this about a month ago. What is happening is the car is taking an excessive amount of time to start. It has happened once yesterday after the car had been warmed up and then shut off. Then today it did it after it sat all night. It's requiring multiple times to turn the car over before it will actually start.
The last time this happened the gas tank was run almost to empty and then refilled, so at the time we added a fuel system cleaner and the problem has not resurfaced until yesterday.
Is there anything obvious I'm missing? Is there any type of fuel regulator that is known for failure? Or would that be more of a steady problem, this one seems very sporadic. This seems a little out there but recently it has been raining a lot, could that have something to do with it or not so much with newer cars.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and let me know if you nee any additional information.

i have not heard or seen any problem like you are experiencing...........
in earlier models , there use to be issues with main relay, on ot days car would not start..but i have not seen of heard of a 02 ..
also there use to be an issue with the fuel pump, the chk valve in it would not hold pressure and would take a long time to start in AM, but again nothing on newer cars
I also looked for bulletins and there are none at this time regarding the issue you are having ??
i would hook up a fuel pressure gauge and see what the pressure reads when car acts up,, pressure should be around 40 psi

That sounds like a good idea deserthonda, but it's gona be tough because I don't normally drive the car. It's the fiance's car and every time it does it I get a call that it did the won't start thing again. But I would like to check it anyway.
Where under the hood should I hook up the pressure gauge? Is there a fitting for it, or do I have to unhood something and hook it up there?
Thanks again guys, I really appreciate it.
it is under the hood,, you need to remove the fuel pulsation damper,, it looks like a **** , i cannot recall what size wrench you need to remove it,, it is located at the end of fuel rail,, once out, attach fuel pressure gauge,, pressure should be around 40 + or - 4 psi
you might want to have a shop do this ,,it might be cheaper that for you to buy a gauge ...

Thanks for the info...
I was looking at fuel pressure testing kits yesterday and your right, the one that Advance had was $40 and it didn't have any foreign cars listed. If it keeps acting up I might just have to get the pressure tested.
