Starting problems
 

I don't have an 05, but where does this buzzing sound like it is coming from: under the dash or in the engine compartment? Is your voltage up?

I'm not sure, it's my wife's car and I've never witnessed it. She says it sounds like it's coming from the 'behind the steering wheel'. The dealer wants $115 to diagnose it, but they can only diagnose it if they can duplicate the problem, either way I have to pay. A new starter runs about $160, I was thinking about just replacing that without the diagnosis, but it could be just a relay or something, I'll have to dig into it soon I guess.

Changing the starter is a DIY project, but I would try to diagnose the problem before throwing parts at it.

First off, when she turns the key to start, does the starter motor start turning the engine?

No, the starter does not engage until the 2nd or 3rd try.

i would not replace the starter till i am 100% sure,,,,,,,,,,,,usually when a starter is bad it makes a click noise not a buzz noise there is something else going on ,

i had a 1990 5.0 mustang that did the same thing i replaced the starter and it did nothing and sometimes it would not turn off i would have to push the break and drop the clutch but anyways it ended up being a bad connection. what i am trying to say is get the diagnosis done it could be anything if i had to guess i would say your ignition

I'm having the same problem with my 2007 accord,2.4L..auto.Doesn't happen all the time..buzzes once,then re-try starting the engine and it goes..anyone know what the problem could be??? Thanks

Where is the buzzing sound coming from?

around the ignition at the steering wheel..or dash..How I usually start the car is turn the key on,wait till the fuel pump stops pumping and fuel gauge goes up,then turn the rest of the way to start.
