strange noise coming from engine.
 

i know noises are the hardest to diagnose without being there to hear it but heres a try. lol

ok so my 94 accord. f22b2 makes this weird like high pitched buzzing or like a short high pitched whistling noise. it only happens when im at around like 1800 or so rpm. itll buzz for a second then stop as my rpm goes below or above. also it seems like it only happens when my car is moving not reving at a standstill.

It's from the SRI ..... play with the throttle body under the hood and find the noise at the bend in the SRI.

Ok, this is really bad... but what is the SRI... I'm experiencing the same issue.

SRI = short-ram intake

Pdude, haveyouinstalled an SRI on your car? What year/model/engine do you have?

You should verify that what you are describing is in fact the SRI, but it seems most likely. The sound isn't anything to worry about if that is what it is. It is just caused by the airflow pattern from the geometry of the pipe.

I don't think I did... :) Unless my dealer sold it to me new like this ten years ago... :)
I just hear the whistling sound, and it would kind of fit the noise that was described here.

Besides, I'm having other issues at the moment that are described in my other thread, but I'll be getting around to some diagnostics soon.

Pdude, when you add your own car into an existing thread, its real important that weknow what kind of car it is. Theres 8 generations of Accord since the 1970s, & theyre not all the same.

A whistling sound with a stock intake system isnt normal - itmight bea vacuum leak.
