TCS Question

I bought my 2002 Accord used and it did not come with an owners manual. I was wondering how the TCS works. I have the button on off, but when I drove over an ice patch this morning the TCS light flashed until I was past it.

RE: TCS Question

I didn't know 6th gen Accords came with traction control. In all other vehicles I've been in with traction control, the light blink when there is no traction i.e. on ice

RE: TCS Question

It's a fully loaded 2002 EX Coupe w/ auto tranny. I traded my 99Accord4 doorLXfor it. It's been a great car so far and gets the same highway mileage 30-32mpg as the other car and that's at an average speed of 65 to 70 mph

RE: TCS Question

Very basic description;
The TCS uses the ABS system to pulse the brake at the wheel that is losing traction.

So when the pulses are different from the individual tone rings ateach wheel the TCS knows there is slippage.

Thanks for the response. Does it work auomatically or do I have to push in the button when conditions get bad?
