thumping noise
 

whenever i hit the gas, i get a thumping noise. it ONLY happens when i am accelerating. as soon as i take my foot off the gas it quits. it sounds a little like a flat tire, except not as loud. i have noticed that the faster i accelerate, the louder the noise is. the car has new tires, and it was making the noise before the new tires were put on. i'm pretty much stumped. any ideas?

Any vibration from the thumping noise?
My first thought is that the inner CV joints might have slung out all the grease and worn divots in the case.

there is mild to no vibration that accompanies the noise. i'll get someone to ride in the passenger seat with me tomorrow and really get on the throttle to see if they can feel anything on that side. i had one of the cv joints replaced not too long ago because it broke on me. (the noise was there before it was replaced) i also think that i might havea warped rotor. (maybe more than one) might that cause the noise?
