Timing Belt Replcement 1992 EXR 4 cyl

Hello Friends,

I am new to this forrum and not too experienced with threads. Well here goes.

My timing belt was replaced at 90 thousand kilometers or about 60 thousand miles in 1997.

How long do they last in years and Km's?

Post has been moved to this correct forum for you..
And what is a Km's ?

Usually, 7 years or 100 miles.

So years stays the same ~160Km's...If I did my conversion right, and it is early and not much coffee so double check me :)

So the belt is 13 years old - even in metric, that's overdue based on 7-years.

Thank you. Correct. The mileage is quite low on the other hands.

Yes. This correct. I am hoping to get a couple of years out of it since the mileage on it is quite low. Risk factor high or low?

Normally expect high temperatures to drive belt lifespan in years. Like say if you lived in Mexico or Saudi Arabia. Victoria's not so hot.

Still, I wouldn't be completely comfortable saying you should let it go. It's already been 85% longer than it should. I'm only a DIY guy who works on his own cars. Some long-time members work at Honda dealers or run their own shop. They'll probably chime in about low miles & overdue years because they see a larger number of different cars.

The problem is it's not at all reliable to inspect the belt. It could look OK then break 3 weeks later. You don't want to pull the timing covers to inspect the belt every 2 weeks, so I'd really think about changing it.
