Tool Kit for Alaska
 

I am going to be on a 3 month Alaska trip this summer and I am putting together a small "just in case" tool kit. I have 2 questions -

Are all of the fittings in the Honda metric or do I have to take both of my sets of sockets and wrenches?

Any suggestions of items that I might forget would be appreciated.

Metric, unless someone has "done something". Don't forget items(summer trip to AK, I'll leave out the COLD stuff)-Screw drivers-tire pressure gauge (I have OCD about that and checking fluids)-jack stands.

For your other post, if you are worried about the tire being on top....put it in the truck, put a "bag" on top???? If you went from the rear to the tire on top, what is going to hold from the front to the tire? If you insist on the tire being on top then I'd figure some way of going side to side more than just rear to top....notice we are missing the other side of the equation in this last part....just my opinion.

The roof rack has a tire hold-down to the rack and tire form a solid whole. The reason that I thought to use a tie down from the rack to the rear bumper is that it would reduce the chance of the whole thing moving forward if I stop sharply.
