Transmission or engine mounts?

My 98 Accord EX V6 3.0 sometimes takes a second or two before I can feel the gear shift, or at least that's what I believe it is. When I switch from park to drive, or drive to reverse, a second or two later it will buck or jerk a little bit and I'll hear it do so.

Do revitalizant or any other oils I see marketed in Popular Mechanics for transmission really help make it better? Can anyone attest to that? Thanks

I see one product that says it "reverses wear" and "coats vital transmission parts" and I want to know if that can noticeably effect the transmission.

The 98-02 V6 transmissions were known to have transmission failures. When was the last time you changed the transmission fluid? What brand of fluid did you use?

I bought the car in the beginning of July so I haven't changed the fluids yet.

I know it won't help me, but why were the transmissions problematic for that time frame?

Best write up I've found to date on this issue:

Can't say this is "the fix" but someone went thru a ton of testing.
