Screeching drivers window
#2
The outer window seal (horizontal along the lower window opening) rubs against the window as window goes up/down. Going up seal is pulled open, however going down it may "chatter" since it's being pushed by friction. W/ age the seal becomes very stiff, increasing liklihood of skip/chatter producing a noise. You should be able to see this happening, if this is cause.
There could also be a problem w/ the window regulator, perhaps needing lube on the scissor-type joints. You would need to remove the door panel to access regulator.
Ultimately you might need to remove the window and regulator to properly lubricate. Access through door inner openings is limited.
If regulator is problem, I would replace the regulator. Replacements are available at reasonable prices. Check ebay, amazon, rockauto, etc.
good luck
