Transmission problem need help!

Hey folks.

I got a used 1998 Accord V6LX one month ago with 110k on it. The car runs good at begining, but recently, it slips SOMETIMES(High rpm with low speed) on D4. Someone told me its transmission problem and expensive to repair.

Im graduate student so can not afford much mony to rebuild or replace a new transmission. So I am wondering how long can the transimission last? It does slips sometimes but I hope it can work for at least 1 year. BTW,can transmission flush make something good on it?

Thanks very much!

A transmission flush would definitely DESTROY your transmission. Don't even think about doing that. I'm not even sure I would try changing the fluid. You may just want to leave it "as is" for as long as it will last. If you change the fluid, it may loosen something in there that was holding something together. If you power flush it, it would be catastrophic. Never power flush any Honda transmission.

So is there anything I can do to make it better or last longer? Only rebuild?
How about only using D5?

I'm not really sure. Some have had luck with additives such as Lucas transmission treatment. My 91 Mustang had been leaking and slipping pretty bad from park to 1st and from park to reverse. Sometimes if I stopped at a red light it would even rev up and take a minute to shift into first and chirp the tires. My dad added Lucas to it and he said the leaking stopped and the slipping stopped as well.
Falkore24 just lost his auto trans in his V6 auto. Maybe he can voice his opinion on this one. I know he tried changing his fluid and he thought it made the transmission even worse.
