RE: transmission problems help please?

If starter "clicks" but does not engage flywheel, the problem is the starter and not the transmission. A new or rebuilt starter is necessary. Copper contacts can be replaced in the starter solenoid if you're diy. Do a search for plenty of info on procedure.

If starter loads up but flywheel won't turn, the engine may be frozen. Try turning the engine over from the crankshaft pulley bolt w/ a long extension, 19mm deep socket to see if engine is frozen. Brake set, trans in park, turn wrench CCW.

good luck

found out it wasn't the starter. took inspection plate off the bottom, seen the flywheel turning when the starter was engaged. does
this mean its the tourque converter. Thanks for the info. on the starter. This is a great forum.
