urgent electrical help please
 

ive recently decided to finally add a cd player to my car as i bought it without one. i did the wiring harness and set it up correctly but it doesnt play through my speakers. it kicks on and works but no sound. there are front pioneer speakers and just a working stock in the back. is there something loose somewhere that may be causing this. my front courtesy lights also dont work and im wondering if there is a relation somewhere. my rear ones work. i checked all my fuses but im still not sure. any ideas???

Did you install a new radio unit, or just a CD player to attach to the original honda unit?

Re-do all connections with solder and shrink-wrap. If that is too much work, use plastic shielded butt splice connectors for a solid connection.

Twist and tape connections are not reliable.

thanks for the replies but i got it fixed. the head unit was bad. it came on but i guess something else was blown. got a nice kenwood and it works great. still need help though. the front right and left courtesy lights still dont work any ideas there?

glad you got it fixed. Courtesy lights sound like a fuse since the problem is with both.

thanks i was pretty happy bout it. i checked my fuses and im sure all are fine. do you know off hand which fuse would go to just these two front lights. maybe i just cant tell.

Fuse #37 (7.5 amp) in the engine bay fuse box protects that circuit.

Pull the bulb (check that it isn't burnt out) in the door and check that the wht/blu wire should be hot at all times. The grn/red wire should be grounded when the door switch is open, and that wire should be open to ground when you push that door switch closed.

Figure which side of the circuit is faulty, then work back from there.
