1991 4-banger. Had to replace the seals between the spark plug tubes and head, new gaskets/grommets/etc but now seems to have a decent leak (about two tablespoons when parked, and a drip while idling). It looks to be coming out at the top right corner (upper timing side). Bought another new gasket kit, and still having the same issue. Is there something I'm missing? Sealant? Online manual doesn't show much..
Make sure the valve cover gasket seats in the valve cover groove and doesn't fall out when trying to install. The installation requires rtv between the gasket and the cylinder head in four spots (in the corner of each arch where the gasket goes from horizontal to vertical). I put the rtv on both edges of the corner. I use rtv grey gasket which is equivalent to hondabond, but any high temp sealant that can handle oil will work.
See the last few minutes of this video where he describes what I'm trying to describe.
Awesome, that is for the response. Video helped quite a bit. I'll grab an OEM gasket and give it some Hondabond in those 4 spots (in the corner if needed as well). The Felpro gaskets sure don't like to stay in place, so maybe I'm losing it in that corner or it's running out at the 90 degree sections around the can.
