Very loud ticking noise?
 

My 99 accord v6 started making a loud clicking/ ticking but only under 2500 rpm. There is no change in power not is there bits of metal in my oil. Someone said it has jumped timing but another said( who knows more) it sounds like the steering pump as it's on the passenger side and on the top of the motor. How do I go about solving this without breaking the bank? Plus my steering feels fine and there is plenty of fluid and no leaks.

Both my 4 cyl / 5 spd's - '92 has, and '93 had, loud clicking especially noticeable when engine was kinda cold and going up a nearby steep hill just a couple minutes after start.

Both cars had >180,000 miles. Still ran/run well. Haven't worried about it, really.
Of course, yours might be something that needs addressing.

Noises are tough to diagnose over the web.

Before throwing any parts at the car, verify the component making the noise. I short piece of garden hose or even a long screwdriver makes a decent mechainc's stethoscope. To rule out a PS pump or other parts driven by the belt, remove the belt, then start up the car. If the noise is not present, then you know it is one of the components driven by your belt. If the noise is not there, then it is something internal, like valve noise, etc...

You could post a video of the noise.

I'll do that ASAP but, it don't do it at all when it's cold and it is too fast for something down low, I'm thinking it's my water pump or steering pump, but I thought they didn't sound like this on the way out.

Ticking noises that come to mind are valve train, some emission control components, Exhaust leak or heat shield. A water-pump has a unique sound when failing. To me it sounds like marbles rattling around in a metal can. A PS pump noise to me couldn't be described as ticking.
