Want standard transmission

i am tired of driving my 2.4 07 accord as an automatic and want to figure out how the whole trade thing works. is it possible to just swap at a dealership for one possibly with 10k more miles? i dont want to have to pay any money to have my car in stick.

What is your suggestion?

First, this board is for questions about how the WEBSITE works, not car questions. I'll move this over to General Tech.

It's possible to swap your automatic transmission for a manual, but it's a bit of work. I'll bet Crispin remembers how much "fun" it's going to be.

You'll have to visit some dealers to find out how you can trade cars with little money out-of-pocket. I bet they'll try to make SOME money off of the deal, but you'll have to do your homework for what the car is worth with different years/miles.

.

LOL - "FUN" that wasn't a work I recall using.

OP - trading a car cause you want a different transmission is not financially smart idea.

What you should do is keep the car for as long as you plan / need to keep it for and remember the next time you are buying a car not to settle for options that you do not want.

A car dealership is going to make money, or give you a 5 year older car, with twice as many miles on it. The best way to do it, is to sell the auto yourself, and buy a manual version with the proceeds. You would still loose money on taxes, and title transfer, but not have to pay a car dealer to do the swap for you.

No dealership is going to trade straight up, they aren't making any money on that. Or as nighthawk girl said if they did it would not be the same year/model/miles.
