while imaccelerating sometimes my rpm suddenly jumps from 2000 rpm to 3000 rpm in a snap without any evidence of power increase or speed and does back to 2000 rpm.whats causing this?

1.sliding tranny?
2. poor tranny oil?

Any suggestions?

slippin and sliding baby. Clutch is on it's way out. At least that is what happened to me. I replaced it with and exedy OEM clutch. 125 for the part. 300 for the install.


Ooops, didn't see that yours is A/T. Sorry about that. Glad you're getting it dealt with though.

It does sound like a slipping tranny.... make sure your fluid level is full.... unfortunatley it looks like you have an automatic so It may be a bit more expensive then what maro paid....

Maro my man , he has an auto tranny ..

it also sounds to me as if the tranny is slipping .. you might want to have a shop properly diagnose it ..

Can you tell from the sound whether the jump in RPM is real? Are we talking about a flaky tach signal from the ignitor while the true engine speed isn't really jumping?

thanks for the info guys.. well i went to 3 different shops yesterday to have it checked out it's confirmed its ASLIPPING TRANNYso i woke up early this morning to shop for atranny fortunately i got one from the yard. my mech said it would be cheaper to replace than to repair... so they are working on it... let you know thanks!
