What kind of gas are you guys using?
 

I just bought a V6 Coupe and I was wondering what kind of gas is recommended for the motor.
I had a maxima and the VQ required 93 octane or the engine would knock and ping.

So what gas are you guys using?

try regular unleaded.. if it starts pinging go to higher octane ,, but you should be all right with unleaded,,r4emember to go at least 5-6 clicks on the gas cap when you reinstall it or the chk engine lite will come on

Before the turbo I used 87. Now with the turbo nothing but 93. Your accord should run fine on 87. And you'll save some money too!

The VQ is a sick motor by the way...

I have an Accord EXL, I run regular unleaded, and have no problems at all.

Same here 87 octain also, car doesn't like it when I put in 93 grade..

Notch me up as number 3 cheapskate.... err... j/k but I do use the cheap stuff as well (87 octane) with no problems in my 94 EX

especially in the summer here in az my car will ping really bad with 87 and only a couple of pings with mid grade. the qt premium is my favorite and i like to run it as often as possible but 91 here is really expensive. hell all the grades are too expensive. i want to make a little system that magnetically separates hydrogen out of the air as your drive and then stores any excess in a tank so your car would be completely self sufficient. i guess figuring out how to shut down the oil companies without crashing our stock market would be pretty tough too. but it would nice to smile in their faces though.
