Default Acceleration Puzzle.

Hi everyone,

I have owned my Honda Accord 2.2CDTi for 2 weeks now and am enjoying it very much ...

I have a puzzling issue whereby the car sometimes seems to 'hold back' when I accelerate .. Difficult to explain really but I'll do my best ..

It is normally more noticeable when in second gear, when I accelerate it feels as though the car is braking for a split second and then it suddenly 'frees off' and accelerates as normal .. The car drives perfectly well other than this and it doesn't happen all of the time ..

Does anyone have any ideas please ?

I have a 15 month warranty on the car and so am not overly concerned at this point and it may even be that this is a normal thing anyway but I was just wondering if it could be an indication that something needs sorting out ..

Thanks very much ..

Dave ..

Hello,

99.9% of the members on this forum are from the USA so we are not very familiar with the Diesel Accords.

I wish we had them over here though.

If this has an electronic throttle input (likely), the issue may be as simple as a reflash of the system software. Check w/ Honda.

good luck
