Wheel Stud Removal
First time Honda owner and new to the forum. I searched the forums but had no luck finding my issue thought I would give a post a try. I have a 98 Accord 4 Dr V6. WhenI bought the car the one of the front wheel studs had been crossed threaded so I decided to replace it myself thinking I would have no issue. Removed the wheel, rotor, and got the brake assembly out of the way. I thought I would be able to knock the stud out at that point but it appears the angle is too steep and something from behind it gets in the way. Do I have to remove the whole assemble or should I be able to keep hammering and get this sucker out?
Any help would be appreciated!! |
RE: Wheel Stud Removal
You can't look behind the hub plate and see the stud hitting the knuckle?
If you have a die grinder with a cut off 4" wheel you could cut the old stud in 2. On the older accords you could grind a side of the head off ofthe new stud to get the stud to slip in past the knuckle. But if that won't work you'll need to pull the bearing apart. |
