Where are the EGR passages 94 accord EX

I have been looking into cleaning the EGR passages/ports in my 94 accord (CD-5) EX (f22b1 engine) and have seen a few guides online but I do not have the manifold that every guide (for my specific engine) shows.

This is what is shown to me (with the fuel rail lifted up):

And this is where it was connected:

Here are some pictures I have taken of mine (with the fuel rail down):

And my best attempt of taking a picture below the fuel rail (can be seen at the top of the image):

Can someone explain to me if I have EGR passages to even clean? And if I do, where they are and how to get to them?

that is... downright odd. My 94 LX has the cover right there. Do you have any idea about the history of the car? The Ody has the egr plate in the same spot too. have you gotten under the car with a flashlight yet?

The previous owner (first owner) gave me receipts of all the bigger repairs they have had to do, but nothing in relation to the exhaust at all. By under the car do you mean under the exhaust manifold? Do you suspect that it is below it rather than above it?

I too have no idea what is up with this, even in the manual I have been working off (which goes over several of the f22b engines) they all supposedly have them in the place that mine does not.

That's all I can suspect. I'm trying to remember what manifolds will bolt to an f22 head...
maybe h22a1/a4, f22a1 (or a4 for 98-02 ulev models). I know the f22b6 (Odyssey engine) is exactly the same engine with slightly different manifolds. Unfortunately, my knowledge comes only from ODB-I (my 94) and ODB-II (my dad's 96) versions of the non-VTEC sibling of of your motor, so I couldn't say for sure that there isn't something weird going on here. Check under and around the motor, it's possible that the egr is located somewhere else.

Clean ports in the intake manifold where EGR manifold mates and clean internal passages of the EGR manifold (separate halves).

good luck

@TexasHonda I think you are explaining the piece that I apparently am missing (as shown in the images). When the weather clears up I will have a look if it might be underneath rather than above for some reason.

TexasHonda 05-11-2013 09:18 AM

yes, I mistinterpreted your post.

Looks like someone has either used an alternative intake manifold or perhaps plugged the ports. Any signs of plugged ports?

Another possibility is a "Canadian or Mexican" heritage where EGR was not req'd? I don't know if these countries req'd EGR or not, but it's a possibility. Emission rules vary by country.

good luck

"Downunder" the 94 doesn't use egr :)

@poorman212 well that would explain it (being in Australia). Thanks for the help everyone.
