whining sound

"I have a 2003 Honda accord EX V6 and its making a high pitch sound coming from engine or transmission it goes up in sound on acceleration and down on deceleration im not sure what this problem is I am mechanically inclined but cant figure the sound out??

could it be coming from a wheel bearing/hub assembly? have you checked the trans fluid?

possibly a belt driven accy. alternator, p/s pump, waterpump etc...could also be timing belt tensioner related.

ya I pretty much checked everything. it all point towards the trans and it was full of trans fluid and it use to do it just in the morning but now its doing when it warms up also

I also have it recorded but don't know how to upload it to thread?

Dr. Drivability 06-19-2013 09:17 AM

the V6 auto transmissions did have some issues. have you serviced it lately? how many miles on the car?

derek03 06-19-2013 09:28 AM

188,000 and no other than the regular oil change and filter we bought the car used last year from Honda dealer and it was fine up until this past winter then it started making that sound.

Dr. Drivability 06-19-2013 09:32 AM

you could try a drain/refill using Honda trans fluid (don't use anything else) and see what happens. other than that, not much to do at this point. get any service records with it?

derek03 06-19-2013 09:58 AM

no records and true I don't think it would hurt anything by drain and refill
