RE: Why I never pay people to work on a car ...
The one exception to my rule of not paying people is auto tranny's. I haven't the tools, equipment, or knowledge to even think about working on those.
That's why I love manual trannys! Anything from a simple clutch job to a total tear down and rebuild can be done at home with only a few specialty tools and a good shop manual. |
RE: Why I never pay people to work on a car ...
ORIGINAL: HondatechAV6 just curious...the tranny recall comes with a new unit - no resealing of anything. what seal failed? |
RE: Why I never pay people to work on a car ...
by new unit i meant remanufactured unit, [sm=smiley8.gif]
we send the old one in, they inspect and rebuild it, and send it back out. |
RE: Why I never pay people to work on a car ...
In reply to Hondatech from earlier post. i'm not 100% sure which one. The shop forgot to do something, so atf was able to leak out. It could have been a loose bolt or something simle too. You never want to run your tranny low on atf.
I have to agree. i have seen the inside of a tranny and don't plan on attempting any work on one. |
