Wierd Radiator fan problem

I have a 95 accord lx and this fan problem recently started to happen. The fan will not start at all when im driving leading to it starting to heat up when im idling. The wierd thing is that the fan will turn on when the car is turned off. The fan will turn off when I have in the third position. The fan stays on when the key is in the first and second position. Any suggestions?

wow that is weird. i would check for any wires going to the fan if they are melted causing a bad connection. that is all i can help with. good luck

Short the temperature sensor A plug and see if the fans will turn on. Its on the thermostat housing. If the fans turn on, then I would replace that temperature sensor.

Yea that may be it. I was doing alot of research on this problem and found out that their 2 etc switches, switch A and switch B. I replaced what I think was the b switch, which is located next to the upper radiator hose. When I unplugged the B switch the fan would turn off. I havent had time to test the A switch due to the fact that I had recently just found out about it. When you say to short the sensor plug do u mean just cross wire the plug with like a paper clip or something of the like?

YES ^ Correct; unplug the 2 wire sensor and put a bent paper clip across the wire side connector terminals, with the key ON the fans should run.

The fan switch at the LOWER radiator hose (it's actually in the thermostat housing back towards the firewall) is the one that has authority while the engine is running.

The one at the UPPER radiator hose only has authority after you turn off the engine.
