wierd transmission problems
Hi everyone, I have a 93 accord with an automatic 4 speed. It has the wierdest transmission problem, if you put it into the drive 4 positiotn it actually starts off in 4th gear. If you put it in drive 3 it starts off in 3rd gear and so on. All of the gears work perfectly if you shift it manually. I dont know if this is a major problem or not. If anyone has any ideas, they would be very helpfull. Thanks, Matt.

RE: wierd transmission problems
There should be a Trans Control Unit (TCU) diagnostic code stored. Short service check connector per following link and read the D4 (trans position indicator) light flashes for the code.
http://www.troublecodes.net/honda/ Post code/s back and your problem can be addressed. good luck |
RE: wierd transmission problems
Their are no codes present for some reason. I dont know what now but I think I might be looking at a new trans.

RE: wierd transmission problems
I doubt you need a new tranny.... the reason I say that is because each of the gears works fine it's just shifting between them that isn't working.... with no code stored I'm thinking it's a problem with either the TCU itself or a shift sensor of some sort.....
