windshield washer and front end
 

hey all, i'm new to this forum. I've been having some issues with my 93 sedan lately. The front end is starting to make some weird knocking when the car is at slow speeds while the wheels are turned, it only seems to be quiet when i'm not using the throttle. And another issue, my windshield washers aren't working at all, i've tried numerous things to try and make them work. There is also a hole in the resevoir, any thoughts on how to remedy this?

Windsheild washers: is it cold where you live? frozen lines maybe? Check your fuses first then have someone try and spray fluid and listen for the little pump to come on, if it doesn't come on then check for power at the connections both when spraying and when not spraying, if it's getting power but not operating you may have a bad pump....

When you say knocking noise is it like a repeated click when you turn one way or the other?

it is usually cold in the winter up here in NH, but its been above 50 during the day this whole past week, with about 4 feet of snow melting in 2 days! gotta love new england! to answer your question, yes the front end clicks when the wheel is turned. it doesn't matter which way and when the car is at slow speeds when the steering wheel is almost at lock its almost like i'm driving a 4X4 the way the steering jerks.

washer pump solution- it's not the pump!
 

if the pump runs but there's no spray, bypass the little bellows connector at the corner of the hood. Unplug the line from the straight connector at one end and plug it into the right angle connector that goes into the fender. That bellows kinks easy once old.

check the cv shafts for tears in the boots. if there are tears in the boots, replace the cv shafts. also check where the sway bar bolts up, the rubber bushings might be worn out, or the bolt that holds it all together might have snapped. it sounds more like a bad cv shaft to me though.
