1990 Honda Accord LX Coupe Exhaust Question
So, I have a 90 Accord Coupe, mint condition, 110k on it, but the exhaust is rotted to such an extent that there is no possible repair that can be done (if there was, I would do it).
As of today, the pipe broke off from the flange that joins up to the rear of the Cat. (The Cat was drug along the road for about 3-4 miles til I got home.) So I'm thinking a whole new exhaust was in order, especially since even the flex pipe is nasty rotted (the steel braiding is non-existent, minus a few loose threads stubbornly clinging on.) So, here's my question, where can I find a cheap system (Having looked at ebay I can pick up Header - Tailpipe aftermarket JDM style for about 225 total)? Perhaps there is somewhere that I can get it even cheaper, and I know that some will say "you get what you pay for" and I understand that, but right now funds are low, and I need to get this car back on the road ASAP. Any other suggestions from you guys? |
if the flex pipe is toast hen you need a new down pipe. So looking for a new hearer might be the best bet with a whole new exhaust. Try some of your local exhaust shops you might get a crush bent cat back for like 100bucks or so with you providing the muffler.

i have a 92 honda accord w/ the same problem...i recently failed inspection due to the exhaust leak coming from my flex pipe...i found a stock down pipe (not including the header) for $74 and change before shipping...i had a whole new exhaust put in from the cat back with some help from a friend of mine at sears in old bridge, NJ.
