Accord 2011 coupe K&N Short Air issue
Just got myself a 2011 Accord Coupe 4cl man and installed a K&N Short Air Intake.
However I've been getting a random delay on take off. At anything lower than 2-3k rpm it's like the engine isn't giving the lot of power, then all of a sudden (over 3k rpm) the engine comes to life and kicks in. Its like the mass air sensor and the ECU isn't set right or something. SO.. I was thinking simply putting everything back to stock or should I find someone to adjust the ECU ? Thanks. You can reset your ECU. But with the delay in take off sounds odd for a intake. It should increase not get worse. Did you make sure all the vac lines are still plugged in? Did you unplug anything and not plug it back in?

Thx for the quick reply. Ive heard a simply battery disconnect can reset the ecu, but also heard that i may have to pull the ecu fuse to reset it. How exactly should i reset ? Ill definitely chk the install again, but pretty sure i connected everything properly. Had a 07 civic before and installed a similar intake, this one easier. So there's no need to adjust any mapping on the ecu? Thanks again.

no. no real need for "re mapping" the ecu. Just pop the ecu fuel and disconnect the bat. the longer the better. Then let the engine run (without touching the throttle. let the car do all the work.) Let the engine warm up FULLY and make sure BOTH fans are running. Take her for a run and beat the Sugar Honey Ice Tea out of her for a few min. Then you ecu will relearn the new a/f ratio for your new intake.
