After market Carb for 1989 accord EX??
 

What would be the best after market carb to replace the stock one with?

What would be the best company to order it from?

I find the acceleration just really underpowered in my stock 1989 accord EX.
I want to improve the acceletation,
I want to do this myself, so I was wondering if there was any other fellow accord owners that have replaced their carb on their 89 accord EX ?

Why are you thinking the carb is causing the issue you are having?

Are you going back with an OE replacement or changing to something else.

The engine is just so underpowered , so I'm told by other accord owners of this model that an after market webber carb makes a world of difference in performance .

What is your experience with these specific Honda engines?
I'm open to suggestions.
If you had this issue what would you do ?

I had 3 carb'd 3rd gen's (86 DX, 87 LX and 89 LX) - yes they were not the fastest things on the road but never felt that they were too underpowered.

The two FI ones I had/have did have a bit more "pep" (88 LXi and still have the 89 LXi).

If you have checked all of the other things (timing, tune up, ect) and have the time and funds then yes I have read/heard that the webber is a good replacement. Heck I think you get to ditch about 10 miles of vac lines from under the hood as well :)

Bottom line I do not have personal experience with a webber conversion - I always kept mine stock.

I had a early nissan truck,, with a L20B 4 cyl, trans out of a 200 sx ?? or 280 zx ?? was a 5 speed and rear end was a 4x4 pathfinder,, only bolt ons were a header and turbo muffler and a 2bbl webber carb,, ran good ,you will be happy with it,,make sure your vaccum secondary spring is not to tight, you can remove the spring and cut it down a lil at a time to dial it in,, that was my answer back in the day as no aftermarket kit was available in the 80s that i could find ,,,good luck
