RE: dc sports headers
FASTACCORD be nice to the other people on here man be mature about it please respect there questions
:( |
RE: dc sports headers
Wow....
Anyways...DC Sports Headers are popular yet expensive...kinda like what Injen and AEM mean in terms of intake. |
RE: dc sports headers
*LOL* it only leaks in one spot huh? sounds like a real bargain as apposed to leaking in 3 spots.... and then to dog on DC sports on top of that...
|
RE: dc sports headers
Go with OBX headers if you have a limited budget like me. Just remember to pick up header gaskets.
Honestly....I think a dyno needs to be ran just to compare the two because performance wise, both are excellent brands. |

ORIGINAL: sir_nasty *LOL* it only leaks in one spot huh? sounds like a real bargain as apposed to leaking in 3 spots.... and then to dog on DC sports on top of that... Other than that, i would also say to go w/ OBX. Just buy better gaskets and remember to tighten the nuts on the flange every couple weeks. |

RE: dc sports headers
@19Accord97
Shiz...I should probably do that sometime soon...but I don't feel/hear any leakage. |
RE: dc sports headers
Well I would def. tighten them up! I am sure the gaskets are better than what I have said, but after 8 months of having the headers they began to leak b/c I never tightened them. I never thought about it. But trust me its a really good idea! You dont want to go through the hassle of taking your headers apart twice to replace both gaskets and making one b/c you can only get the gasket where the 2 pieces meet off the net.
For the first month after I fixed them I checked all the nuts every week, I just jecked the car up on wood blocks, tightened the 3 nuts of the flange and the nuts of the headers going to the block. You'll be surprised at how loose they are! Just make sure you tighten them when the engine is cold so you dont strip the studs out. Now, I check them every 2 weeks or so and they barely need tightened!:D |
RE: dc sports headers
Oh, and b4 my check engine light came on I could sort of hear a whisping noise (the leak) but wasnt to sure what it was and then bam here comes the light! The noise only was heard for like 2 days! So it came quick!
|
RE: dc sports headers
Hmmmm....I might as well leave the cover off so I can access my headers more frequently. Between my intake and exhaust....I guess I can't hear my headers
|
RE: dc sports headers
Lol...enough. He just wants to see overreactions like mine. Although I was saving the image for a time when I could acutally use it. :D

RE: dc sports headers
ORIGINAL: fabulous010 doesn anybody have the dc sports headers on there k24 03 - 05 coupe Is there any reason why you are debating for DC Sports? If money is somewhat tight, I would just go w/ OBX. Basically with two name brand of headers, the difference in price ($150-200) isnt going to really be worth it in my opinion. But like I said thats up to you. If you want quality that you know will fit and wont fail then go with DC Sports, but if you want a cheaper, yet very high quality product then go with OBX. The members on here with OBX products are VERY pleased. But so are the DC Sport guys. Let us know what you choose! |
RE: dc sports headers
ORIGINAL: 03Sleeper EDIT- OBX is about $200 shipped. DC Sports is around $434 shipped. |
RE: dc sports headers
No way...where did you find that good deal??
|
RE: dc sports headers
Right here, brotha.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-E...5844QQtcZphoto This guys eBay store has a load of OBX stuff. |
RE: dc sports headers
Of course, I got my headers from the same vendor...but since mine is a 7th gen, its more expensive.
;) EDIT - Wha? Why the winky? |
RE: dc sports headers
Not only cheaper, but I personally like the styling of the Vette better than I ever liked the Viper. Although I am really upset by their transition to non-hideaway headlights... Still, ZO6 Vette is the sweetest car I ever had the opportunity to drive. Better than a Ferrari, Lambo, or Porsche 911 Turbo, IMO.
|
RE: dc sports headers
ORIGINAL: C6Vette_Lingenfelter Hey 19 Accord 97! He might not have vette but I do...And its a hell of alot faster than a viper, Now maybe not their new one but still.....A vette is a lot cheaper than any viper I no of.. Besides, comparing an upgraded version of a Corvette to a Standard Viper is like comparing apples to oranges. |
RE: dc sports headers
Dude, Camaro's are awesome...poor man's Vette. I would be pretty stoked if I got a Camaro..you can probably smoke any stock Civic...or ones that have an insane amount of stickers or dropped to the floor...american muscle style.
|
RE: dc sports headers
A stock C6 vette will push any stock viper....It is basically who ever gets off the line the fastest.
And their are tons of different packages you can go with through Lingenfelter too.....Turbo, Twin-Turbo, Supercharger, porting the heads, I can go on forever!.....If you have the money to do it then why not, if you truly love your car. Lingenfelter is known for their Corvettes. My dad did look at Vipers a couple years ago, and was not impressed at all.....It's a waste of 80-90 grand. Save your money and get something better and cheaper! |
RE: dc sports headers
Yeah but the Vette is down almost 100 hp, plus it weighs quite a bit less than a Viper. Heres my deal with Chevy....
-You see tons of Corvettes everyday...but when you see a Viper its like holy crap and you go check it out -Most Corvette guys know nothing about cars -If I am buying a sports car...I want a sports car...not a refined daily driver with traction control and all that other junk. The Viper always handles better in the slalom then the vette anyways http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dl...p;Profile=1008 -And of course most all the Corvette guys claim they are faster than a Viper, in which they will compare a modified Corvette to a stock Viper which is dumb. If you wanna play...go play with a Hennessy twin turbo viper, 1000hp 1100 ft of torque, lets see a Chevy v8 handle that for very long. Chevy never builds a worthy engine, just like in the 70's and with their Cobalt...if its slow they just stick a supercharger on it. And that was supposed to compete with the SRT-4? psssshhhh Now look what they are doing...sticking a supercharger on the vette and calling it the blue devil/demon! lmao Wont they ever learn? Never in my life will I own a Chevrolet...or other GM garbage. They and Ford ruined Nascar and drag racing. |
RE: dc sports headers
hahahahaha............your funny.......
How many new corvettes do yousee everyday?.....and a custom Lingenfeter.....and around here whereI liveI have tons offriends with vettes, and they aren't a daily driver....and likeI said a stock C6 will push any viper.... and your a dumbBUTT....anything with 1000 horsepower willsmoke anything.....ButwhenI had my vette up at Lingenfelter they gave me a tour of their plant and they showed me a 06 Z06 with 1400 horsepower without a turbo or supercharger!......and I'll take that over your Hennessy dream car.... You will never in your life have enough money to own a chevy.......It's nice being RICH!, and good at what you do!.....take my word for it ;) |
RE: dc sports headers
Oh yea 19Accord97!,
Mine is faster than the Z06 too...... "Yeah but the Vette is down almost 100 hp, plus it weighs quite a bit less than a Viper. Heres my deal with Chevy.... " |
RE: dc sports headers
hahaa.....and my dad doesn't own the car buddy.....I do!
i have put all that money in it myself...... "Jeesh.... |
RE: dc sports headers
Okay, first FASTACCORD, no you didnt go with him.
Dont you see....your little stories are a little to ridiculous. Actually, she takes care of her car. Why didnt you say anythign about my friend whos dad is a mechanic at GM? Theyu both take care of their cars, they are just built cheaply, just like the power steering/gear junk. You dont know her, so dont be saying "oh she doesnt take care of it blah blah blah" And no, I do not work at McDonalds. Oh, and my favorite is how C6Vette_Lingenfelter is calling me a ricer, when you, yourself have soupd up an Accord. Hmmmm.... wow that makes TOTAL sense. NOT. Your the ricer for using NAWZZZZ. Sry bud. |
