Exhaust system

Hey guys, I have a 99' v6 ex honda accord @ 200k miles. I was checking out my exhaust system yesterday and was pretty concerned by what I found! The mufflers weren't too bad, no holes or anything. The pipes didn't look too bad either, they had their rusty spots, but the gaskets! The gaskets looked like a clump of rust surrounding the pipes. After that I checked all the mounting devices and they were just as rusty. How concerned should I be about this? And how much would it cost to get fixed, or would doing it myself be a reasonable alternative? Thanks

you can buy a gasket kit for not that much.

Yea I've seen them, but how difficult is it to remove a totally rusted out gasket?

if you can get your hands on some air tools it should be fairly easy. that or a breaker bar and or a tq wrench. If you end up striping the bolts you can take a torch to them and cut them off. My 93 oem exhaust I used a socket wrench and mine came off fairly easy with a little bit of muscle.

Ok thanks!

You might want to plan on replacing all the bolts. I usually break a large percentage of them so I don't want some old & some new. But I'm in the land of snow & salt.

Yea I am too, how difficult/long of a process is that going to be?

you can do it all with in a hr by yourself if you have the right tools
