Fujita/ Injen/ Takeda
 

I know they are all good quality. But i have heard of some CEL problems with fujita. The fujita is CAI, the Injen is CAI, and the takeda is short ram...takeda claims 15 hp and 12 tQ..but IDK..i dont think that's possible w/out an exhaust system.

As far as flow dynamics, a column of air can only move as fast as the slowest part w/out becoming irregular in its flow pattern. So I have to imagine that any intake is only going to give about 5-7hp max..w/ exhaust maybe a total of 20hp if ur stock was really restrictive.

So which one do you guys think would be the best overall? Any opinions would help..that's just my 2 cents!

Your forgetting that the air still has to get through the manifold, through the head, past the valves, then all the way out again.

I don't know many engines designed in the last 20 years were the intake and exhaust are the limiting factors here.
You might get a few hp (not enough to feel, or measure reliably on anything but a bench dyno), but it will not be extra hp, it will be in the to end at the expense of power lower down. So it's only going to help performance if you drive everywhere at WOT close to redline.

The only sane answer to this question is with a dyno...anyways else is just guesstimateing.
Everyone likes something different than what the other fellow does.

Dynos are the way to go but I've seen Fujita give 3hp gain. You only gain if somethings better in physically in engine. CAI are only good for delivering "cooler,denser air" to engines which might improve fuel consumption. I would go with SRAM if looking for a more economic efficient mod and maybe you could get a heat shield and heat wrap to decrease heat. My $0.01

Gains should be significantly larger with a 6 cylinder engine. I remember somewhere they replaced the stock exhaust and intake and gained something like 18whp on a Z.

I didn't know Honda used the VQ in the Accord....... :rolleyes:


How much you gain depends on how well the current head, intake and exhaust work.

Lol, I'm just using the Z as an example. When 6 cylinders breathe better, its always more rewarding. Look to a gain of 10-15 easy with i/h/e setup. if everything works out right maybe 20.

Moppie's point is that the gains depend on whether the stock intake is a bottleneck for air flow. If the stock intake is large enough so it's NOT any kind of bottleneck, then an intake won't help much. That doesn't depend on the number of cylinders, it just depends on the details of the stock intake.

I live near aFe and they make Takeda. They have there own Mustang Dyno and they dyno everything they make. I say a dyno is the best proof you can get.

This thread was long over..look at the dates it was open..Your right tho- dyno tells the real story...if you have the money to hook up YOUR car each time you want to test one Out...:D
