New throttle body, help please
 

I have a 97 honda accord, its an automatic and im having trouble finding a bigger throttle body for it. I recently bought a blackworks racing throttle body but it didnt work because i have two throttle cables and it only had the one switch for one cable. I think the reason i have two cables is because its an automatic. Does anyone know where i can order a new throttle body for an automatic transmission or if they even make one?

please help me out if you can, thanks.

I'm curious; why do you need a larger throttle body?

Because with a larger throttle body it will help increase horsepower, allow more air in and help increase throttle response.

Really? Call me a skeptic, but my bet is that a larger throttle body won't do anything to improve the output of your engine.

Oh really? i thought it would help out. how come you say it wont do anything cause i dont wont to get it if it wont do anything to help?

Unless you change your cam(s), the exhaust, the upstream intake plumbing, and the intake plenum to increase the overall systemic capabilities of your engine (changes which will give you extra high RPM power but will most likely reduce your midrange torque by a very noticable amount) then the single addition of a larger throttle body won't do diddly for the engine.

Using low-restriction intake components, like air filter, short-ram intake, etc. can only improve things to the extent that the stock stuff is restrictive. Traditionally, Honda 4-cyl engines don't have very restrictive stuff so it won't improve as much as it would for some other car companies.

Oh i didnt know that but it does make sense, so then my stock throttle body should work just fine or better then a bigger one?

Yup, you're most likely better off with the factory throttle body.
