SRI w/ Heat Sink...great stuff?

What do yall think about this/ This comes with the heat sink already so will this perform just was well as any CAIs? Also, does the heat sink reduce noise and even if it does...its a more humble sound...sounds good right? Not like those crazy loud sounds. Thanks

RE: SRI w/ Heat Sink...great stuff?

Hey there! Im not an expert though I do have an AEM sri. Anyways, by the looks of it, I dont really see a head shield unless its surrounding the air filter which is what they are calling a "heat shield". Anyways, that would help, but the piping is still open to the engines bays heat which will warm the air anyways. Im sure someone else will answer with a more detailed answer.

RE: SRI w/ Heat Sink...great stuff?

Gotta agree with 19Accord97 on this. I have seen some, very few, people put header wrap around their SRI to keep out the heat and what not. I installed a Neuspeed SRI on my wife's Jetta 1.8t and it came with an actual heat sheild to prevent the sucking in of hot underhood air. It does seem to work very well becuase everything else is hot but nothing around the filter. If you want a heat sheild, then protect the entire air filter from the rest of the engine bay and let it only suck air from where the stock air box did. A little sheet metal work and you could make your own or buy the AEM CAI.
just my thoughts...
