When you check the check engine light on a 89 Honda Accord LXi is there going to be an initial blink on the ECU under the driver seat before sending the code?

    Yea, I love the little 3rd gen (86-89) Accord's

Do you have a thread about this?

If not start one....if you do I'll run across it soon

I'm going to "guess" it is either the float needle or the float. Float needle is first on my list.

I think I have a few pic's of this somewhere....the rest I'm going to have to close my eyes and try to remember how I did it last time.

i have the same problem on 89 accord with carb. it was sitting for years and had to replace fuel pump and take gas out and replace. We can get it started manually pouring gas into carb but the fuel is just pouring into the carb when starting to where it floods and actually pours over. Do you think this is the float as well? Can you tell me exactly how to find and service this? Happen to have pictures? You seem to be the resident expert so i would really appreciate ANY help you can provide. I am in Matthews NC myself.. how far away are you from Matthews?
