    i blacked mine out with the taillight paint you can get at advance and yes as soon as i purchased my hood i put 2 extra layers of clearcoat on it and then i waxed and buffed it and it hasnt faded at all.you could prob buff the fade out of your hood if the clear coat hasnt pealed off yet and refinish it with clearcoat.If you have any more Questions just ask.
