2018 Honda Accord EX Sedan

Hello, everyone! I am now the proud owner of a brand new 2018 Honda Accord EX sedan. I bought it on Saturday and already have 160 miles on it. The computer shows 33.5 mpg in 'mixed' driving - which is pretty impressive. It is the first Honda vehicle I have ever owned, although family members have had a few of them over the years. I have pretty much been more of a Nissan guy (two Sentras, one Maxima, one Pulsar, a Stanza, a Datsun 510 and - most recently - an Altima) for the past few decades.

I test-drove a new Honda Civic four years ago and almost bought one, but instead chose the Altima because it was larger and cost a bit less. I had it almost 3 1/2 years until I sold it last Friday and purchased my Accord on Saturday, March 3rd. So far, I really like the Accord. My Altima was a decent car and I had no issues with it, but the Accord is a few notches higher on the food chain. The EX trim level also gives a lot of extras at a fair price. I was happy with the standard equipment on the LX, but my girlfriend convinced me to fork over the extra shekels for the better-equipped EX.

Anyway, I hope to learn more about the Accord and share experiences with other owners on this forum. :-)

Welcome!

How was your 510? I used to have a 1972 510 and I really liked it. In spite of regularly having to replace U-joints in the rear half-shafts. And eventually it all rusted out...

My Datsun 510 was a 1970 model that I had right after I graduated from high school way back in 1983. It was a four-door and had the dreaded automatic transmission. Darn thing handled like a BMW, though. It had an independent rear suspension.

I almost died in that car - at age 18 - when a tie rod broke & I lost my steering. Rolled it over TWICE - but walked away with cuts & bruises. I was fortunate that day.

My aunt had a brand new 280ZX turbo back then. Very cool car!

Dad had one of those 280ZX Turbo's....forget the year but I remember it was the last year they made them, before the 300's came out. I only got to drive it a few times :(

The Datsun 280ZX was last produced for the 1983 model year. It was the last year that Nissan offered the 2.8-liter inline 6 engine as well. For 1984, they changed the car in appearance and mechanically as well.

It became the Nissan 300ZX and was powered by an all-new V6 engine that displaced 3.0 liters. If I recall correctly, it (like the previous model) it was offered both with and without a turbocharger.

Nissan gave the car an overhaul again in 1989 or 1990.......and vastly improved the V6's output. They also upgraded the 4-door Nissan Maxima in several ways, including a new non-turbo V6 that helped it become Nissan's "four door sports car" for a few years. The Maxima was even marketed for somebody who wanted a Z-car, but needed four doors.
